Liana’s Quinceañera at the Portuguese Club in Tarrytown, NY
On Saturday, December 20th, I was back at the Portuguese Club in Tarrytown, NY, this time to capture Liana’s Quinceañera. It was a night filled with great energy, thoughtful details, and memorable moments.
I was brought in by Rich from RMH Entertainment, who reached out after we successfully collaborated over the summer. I always appreciate when previous work leads to new opportunities, and this event was another great experience working together. You can find RMH Entertainment on Instagram at @rmh_ent.
The venue did an amazing job with their holiday decor, which set a festive tone as soon as you walked in. On top of that, the decorations for Liana’s birthday celebration were beautifully done. Everything came together perfectly, and it was clear how much love and care Liana’s parents put into creating a special night for her.
One thing I really enjoyed about this Quinceañera was how it moved away from some of the more traditional elements. There were no long speeches or extended candle lighting explanations, which allowed the night to flow smoothly and stay upbeat. This made a big difference in keeping the energy high and the guests engaged throughout the evening.
Rich did a great job as the DJ, getting guests out of their seats and onto the dance floor. The party atmosphere was taken to another level with smoke machines, a tall neon dancing robot that blew ice smoke into the crowd, and nonstop movement on the dance floor. All of it made for a fun experience and some really dynamic photos.
The Portuguese Club’s catering was also a highlight of the night. From appetizers to the main course and dessert, everything was delicious. Guests definitely left full and satisfied, which always adds to the overall success of an event.
Liana was a natural in front of the camera and made my job incredibly easy. She was confident, comfortable, and always ready with a pose. One moment that really stood out to me was a photo she specifically requested on the staircase that leads up to the main hall. I had wanted to shoot there during a previous event but never had the chance. This time, Liana wanted the shot, and we made it happen. It turned out to be one of my favorite moments of the night.
One of my favorite images from the entire event is of Liana dancing with her dad in the middle of the smoke on the dance floor. It was emotional, cinematic, and perfectly captured the feeling of the celebration. Moments like that are exactly why I love event photography.
Thank you to Liana and her family, RMH Entertainment, and the Portuguese Club for such a fun and memorable night. I am grateful to have been there to capture it all.
