The World Cup Is Over. Now What Happens to Local Soccer?

The World Cup may be over, but the hope is that the energy it created can carry over into local soccer. In this vlog, I head back to Westchester Soccer Club as the team returns to league play after the World Cup. I caught up with several members of the 914th Infantry supporters group to get their thoughts on the tournament, their favorite moments, and what they think the World Cup could mean for the growth of soccer right here in our communities. You'll also get a look at our tailgate, a walkthrough of Memorial Field, different views from around the stadium, and the match against the New York Cosmos. I spent some time down on the field through VIP access and also watched the game from the 914th Infantry supporter section to show what the experience is like from different perspectives. The World Cup brought a lot of attention and excitement to soccer in this country. Now the question is: how do we keep that momentum going and get more people involved in the local game? This is local soccer. This is Westchester.
