Westchester SC Home Opener Vlog — April 27, 2025

On Sunday, April 27, I brought my Canon EOS R6 Mark II to the Westchester Soccer Club home opener to document the day — not as an official photographer, but purely for myself. I wasn’t hired to shoot this one; no one ever got back to me about working the event. Still, I decided to show up, camera in hand, to capture the vibe and create content for my vlog and social media.

Before the game even kicked off, the energy was building. The supporters group began their day at Cantina Lobos in Pelham, rallying with food, drinks, and chants before marching together to the stadium. That pregame march set the tone: loud, proud, and passionate.

At the stadium, the atmosphere was electric. Drums echoed through the crowd, food trucks lined the walkways, a local brewery was serving up cold beer, and fans browsed Westchester SC merch at the sales tables. You could tell this wasn’t just a game — it was an event, a community moment.

Even though I arrived after the warmups and team arrivals, there was no shortage of moments to capture. From the dedicated supporters to the families experiencing their first WSC match, the crowd was all in. I got some of my favorite shots at the end of the game when the players came over to thank the supporters — a moment of real connection between the team and its fans.

This was my first time experiencing a Westchester SC home opener, and I’m glad I brought the camera. The energy, the visuals, and the people made it all worth documenting. Check out the full matchday vlog on YouTube to see the behind-the-scenes moments, the cheers, the chants, and a look at what local soccer culture really looks like here in Westchester.
